Choreographer Julia Klockow is looking for three people and their stories on the subject of identity change and clothing for her new piece.

All submissions of people and their stories who cannot be part of the production are cordially invited to explore their own life story in a free movement workshop with Julia Klockow and the team. Date not yet fixed.
ABOUT THE PRODUCTION (Starts in May)
tellmesthnew! is an emotionally charged piece about letting go, saying goodbye and the reshaping of identity and textile layers. The interdisciplinary performance interweaves autobiographical narratives with the art forms of contemporary dance, live music and tailoring. Three heroic stories and items of clothing from real people will be selected via a call to tell the story of a striking change in their lives. On stage, Klockow cuts up these items of clothing in the sense of a "social skin", Pizzighella measures time and space with rhythmic structures on the drums, while Hess creates the NEW live from the cut remnants.
The moment of cutting stands for the liberation of the old. Destroying something that has been made creates tension. Every cut is both a crossing of boundaries and an opportunity for transformation. Once you have recognised this, a playful dimension opens up. The dismantling of the various layers explores the interdependence of material, form and meaning. Between destruction and production, tellmesthnew! thus celebrates the self-empowering force of conscious destruction in a cathartic act.
