ENDE

Jan - Feb 2023

In the residency, choreographer Julia Klockow researches the topic of "ENDING". The freedom of the stage space makes it possible to reflect on what kinds of endings there are and what dramaturgical function the end has. She asks at what point do we perceive that something is coming to an end, can we build a play out of non-endings and are there new ways of ending that we have never tried before? How much beginning does an ending need?

The much-cited magic of a new beginning only becomes possible when something has ended before. Is it necessary to remember an ending? Not necessarily. The end puts things in a final order. What has happened is put in a certain light and leaves behind what was - either dull or dazzlingly shiny.

The formulated questions are starting points and will be organically deepened or dropped within the residency.

The open-ended research ENDE is supported by Fonds Darstellende Künste with funds from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media within the program NEUSTART KULTUR.

Organized by Flausen+ in cooperation with E-WERK Freiburg.
